TRS Govt. mulling to regularize notarized properties in the state

Ahead of the proposed general elections in Telangana, the KCR government is planning to begin the process of regularizing over 13 lakh notarized plots and properties in the state and is reportedly busy in collecting data from district collectors before taking a final call. It is said that the state government is presently waiting to get the data from all the district collectors and will release appropriate orders later in this regard.

In order to regularise the notarized plots and pave way for their registration in the state, the state government is reportedly contemplating to adopt the same process wherein it has allowed the registration of documents on plan papers called “Sada-Baenamah.” It is learnt that a meeting will be convened soon to deliberate over the measures to facilitate the owners having genuine documents and a committee, formed to review the situation, will send the recommendations later to the government.

According to the reports, there are over 13 notarized properties in the state that include open plots and houses and after a careful examination by the committee all of them will likely be regularised by the government. It is pertinent to mention here that the political parties in the state are anxious over the ban imposed on the registration of properties on notarized documents and are constantly mounting pressure on the government to review the decision and allow the owners a chance to get their notarized properties registered on the names.

During a meeting last week, the cabinet sub-committee of ministers has reportedly instructed the officials from revenue department to attend the next meeting with all the relevant details of the properties pending for registration with notarized documents. It is said that the district collectors are likely to turn-up to the next meeting with required data regarding the notarized properties along with their suggestions. The recommendations of the cabinet sub-committee are likely to be placed before the government for appropriate measures.

It is said that the move to regularised open plots and houses having notarized documents will benefit lakhs of people in the state eagerly waiting for years to see their notarized properties registered on their names.
