TRS legislator S. Ramalinga Reddy passes away

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Legislator S. Ramalinga Reddy passed away in a private hospital here due to illness in the wee hours of Thursday.

Reddy(57) who has Considered being very close to Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Supremo and  Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has represented the Dubak segment for four times. He was a former scribe and elected for the same constituency in 2004 for the first time. He had taken an active part in the Separate statehood movement led by the TRS president K.Chander Shekhar Rao.

He survived by his wife, son and daughter. Last week he was indisposed and admitted in a private hospital of a State Capital where he has taken last breath.

His mortal remains have been shifted to his residence in Dubbak Mandal where his last rites would be held.  Meanwhile, in a condolence message, Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao and other ministers expressed their deep shock over the death of Reddy.

Rao recalled his association with Ramalinga Reddy as a fellow activist hailing from his native region. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to members of the bereaved family. The Chief Minister prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace.

Several TRS leaders including Ministers  KT Rama Rao, Harish Rao, E Dayakar Rao, A Indrakaran Reddy – and former TRS MP Kavitha expressed their condolences over the demise of Reddy.

Minister Harish Rao said that he is shocked by the sudden demise of  Ramalinga Reddy.

 He recalled the association with him as a T.Statehood movement colleague and said that Reddy has played a key role in the Telangana movement as a journalist and activist.

Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that he was shocked by the news of the death of   Ramalinga Reddy. He said that his services to the TRS party were unforgettable

Tribal Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathore, State Power minister Jagdish Reddy have also expressed grief over the sudden death of  Reddy.
