TRS MPs Ask Center to Release Pending Arrears to T State

Hyderabad: TRS MPs Nama Nageshwar Rao and Kotha Prabhakar Reddy today sought the Center to immediately release pending GST arrears to Telangana state. They slammed the Modi government for deliberate delay in the release of funds despite repeated requests.

During question hour in Parliament, the MPs of Telangana have expressed concern over the delay in releasing Rs 5000 crore to the state under GST and IGST. They urged the speaker to see that the center takes note of their appeal and release the funds.

Nageshwar Rao has brought to the notice of the house that repeated appeals from the state were ignored by the center.  Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has written letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard,  he stated. However our pleas were deliberately ignored by the Modi government,  he charged.

Non-release of the funds and cut in budget allocations will hamper state interests of welfare and development programs,  he informed the house.
Responding,  union minister of state for Finance,  Anurag Thakur has said that the funds would be released.   The Centre will pay  GST arrears to the States in two installments he said.
The house witnessed pandemonium by opposition parties shouting slogans against the Centre.  They sought the Centre for a debate on controversial  CAA and NRC.
