TRS MPs protests lead to adjourn LS, RS in Parliament

TRS MPs stormed the parliament during its first-day session on farmers’ issues, paddy, MSP, water row, and other related issues.

With TRS MPs stalling the proceedings on state issues both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned by Speaker Om Birla and Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu respectively.

On the first day of the parliament, TRS MP Nama Nageshwar Rao shouted slogans in the Lok Sabha against the Centre on paddy and farmers issues. Rao displayed placards on the state demands for resolving the farmers’ issues.

At Rajya Sabha, TRS MP Banda Prakash stormed the well of the podium disrupting the proceedings. Venkaiah Naidu at the chair has directed TRS Rajya Sabha leader K Keshava Rao to control their colleague Prakash from storming the podium. However the TRS MP made it to the podium and staged a protest.

With this, the chairman adjourned the Rajya Sabha till 2 pm. Also at the Lok Sabha the Speaker has adjourned the house till 12 noon.

The MPs of the TRS have demanded that the Centre has to repeal three farm laws, declare a national farm policy and stop Gazette Notification on water row. They also asked the Centre to come up with an Act fixing MSP to farm produce in the country. The MPs of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) sought the Centre to annul three farm laws, bring out legislation for MSP for farm produce and others.

The TRS MPs sought the Central Government to take immediate steps to resolve the long-pending water dispute and opposed the Gazette Notification issued by it to take over the projects of irrigation in Telugu states.  Later the TRS members of the parliament staged protests at the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the parliament premises.

The TRS MPs shouted slogans in favor of the farmers, seeking national farm policy, MSP, paddy procurement, address water disputes among others.
