Telangana Minister for Backward Classes Gangula Kamalakar today said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is the only party that protects the interests of Telangana.
Scores of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders belonging to Asif Nagar village of Kothapalli mandal in Karimnagar district joined the TRS on Sunday.
Speaking at the program to mark the occasion, Minister Gangula Kamalakar said the TRS government has taken up unprecedented development activities since the formation of Telangana State and there was no scarcity of drinking water as the piped water was being supplied to each household across the State under the Mission Bhagiratha.
The Minister said both national parties— Congress and BJP — are least bothered about the development of Telangana and they would not fight like TRS party which has sole aim to protect the interests of the State. “Earlier in the combined Andhra Pradesh, people used to witness frequent power cuts and power supply to agriculture sector was not beyond more than five to six hours. After the formation of Telangana State, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao initiated many steps, including generation of additional power and there is a remarkable achievement in the power sector. Right now, Telangana is the only State to provide a 24-hour supply to all the sectors. Such kind of facility has no other State in India,” Gangula said.
State Planning Commission Vice Chairman Boinapalli Vinod Kumar and other senior leaders were present.
