TS Rice Bowl of India, per capita income doubled : KCR says at 75th Independence Day event

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today claimed that Telangana, the youngest state has achieved a distinction in becoming the Rice Bowl of India besides surpassing national per capita income double.

To mark 75th Independence Day Celebrations, the Chief Minister unfurled the National Flag of Tri-Colour at the historic Golconda Fort here in the City and took a salute by the guarding police personnel. The entire nation is remembering the struggles of independence and we celebrate it in great enthusiasm, he said and claimed that state per capita income is double compared to the national per capita income. Telangana per capita income which was Rs 1,12,126 in 2013-14 was increased to Rs 2,37,632 which is double compared to the national per capita income put at Rs 1,28,829 as per the Central figures.

‘I feel proud to achieve this growth and the state will surely release Rs 50000 towards waiver of Rs 1 lakh crop loans to reprieve our farmers he declared. Having released Rs 25000 in this connection, we will release Rs 50000 from Aug 16 to the banks and another Rs 25000 will be released by year-end, KCR said.

The entire State, as part of the nation, has conducted the 75th Independence Day Celebrations on a grand note in all the districts.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister while addressing the gathering and the people said that the state is going ahead on a growth path. We achieved our aims in the agriculture and irrigation sectors and became “Rice Bowl of India” he said. The Chief Minister reiterated to implement another flagship program Dalit Bandhu by spending about Rs 1 lakh cr. Every eligible Dalit family in the state would get Rs 10 lakhs each to do their own business and achieve sustainable development he stated. At any cost the government will implement this program to empower the SCs in the state, he said, adding that all the professional communities are enjoying one scheme of welfare or the other.

KCR stated that the 4000 MW Yadadri Power Plant is completed in the Nalgonda district and we need to review the fruits of our Independence. The state is going ahead with a plan of action to reach out to the unreached to achieve inclusive growth, he said.

Our priority is to develop all sectors on a priority basis and spend funds for the welfare of the poor and weaker sections.

He stated that the government plans to empower Dalits like never before. For the past 70 years, the SCs have been lagging behind and we are determined to empower them. We set a record by producing food grains in 3.06 cr mt, as the rice produced in 1.06 cr acres and cotton is grown in 60.54 acres contributing to the national production.

He cited that despite corona causing a huge loss in all sectors Telangana witnessed Rs 9,80,407 cr GDP while it was Rs451580 in 2013-14. Similarly, our net power production is put at 16,425 mw now and it was just 7788 mw when the state was formed. We are helping about 9 lakhs of farmers to get rid of the crop loans, he added.

He said that the government decided to offer pensions to 57 years old people, will implement insurance for the weavers as rythu bhima, sanctioned eight new Medical Colleges, and strengthened the hospitals with facilities and equipment
