TSRTC Sets Record Earnings on Raksha Bandhan

Hyderabad: On Raksha Bandhan this year, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) set a new record by earning Rs 22.65 crore in a single day.

TSRTC successfully transported 40.92 lakh passengers across the state on this auspicious day, exceeding the previous year’s numbers by more than one lakh. The corporation earned Rs 21.66 crore on the festival day last year.

The huge TSRTC bus fleet traveled 36.77 lakh kilometers this year, up from 35.54 lakh kilometers the previous year.

The Nalgonda district showed out in particular, with an exceptional increase in bus occupancy ratio (OR). The OR was 101.01 percent last year, but it has risen to an impressive 104.68 percent this year. Except for Narketpally, all depots in the district had more than 100 percent bus occupancy.

Aside from Nalgonda, depots in former Medak, Mahbubnagar, and Karimnagar also scored higher than 90% OR. The OR reached 100 percent at 20 depots in various regions, including Huzurabad, Bhupalpally, Suryapet, Siddipet, and Godavarikhani.

TSRTC Chairman Bajireddy Govardhan and Managing Director VC Sajjanar were pleased with the remarkable result. They stated that on this auspicious day, approximately 41 lakh passengers chose RTC buses for their transportation needs. This exceptional revenue success on Raksha Bandhan has established a new benchmark for the transportation corporation.
