Hyderabad: Two persons died on the spot and 15 others received injuries when the DCM lorry they were traveling in was hit by a speeding truck on Rajiv Rahadari at Thurkapally village in Shamirpet Mandal today morning. The deceased were identified as Erra Srinivas of Singur village in Sangareddy district and Raju from Suraram colony.
Police said that the incident occurred when the DCM driver tried to slow down the vehicle on the roadside. The truck which was driven in a rash manner rammed it from behind. Around 40 people were in the DCM lorry and they were proceeding to Suraram colony, Jeedimetla after attending a wedding reception at Angadi Kistapur village of Gajwel district.
The injured persons were shifted to hospital for treatment. The truck driver M. Srinivas was taken into custody and the vehicle was seized. The Shamirpet police booked a case and are investigating. (NSS)
