Two more SRDP projects will be inaugurated in Hyderabad on Wednesday

On Wednesday, two major infrastructure projects constructed as part of the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) to relieve traffic congestion in the city’s eastern parts will be inaugurated.

KT Rama Rao, Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, would inaugurate the Bairamalguda Left Hand Side (LHS) Flyover, which costs Rs 28.64 crore, and the LB Nagar Right Hand Side (RHS) underpass, which costs Rs 40 crore. GHMC completed both of these important projects on schedule and on budget.

The Bairamalguda flyover will relieve traffic travelling from Owaisi Hospital junction to Uppal Junction, while the underpass will relieve traffic moving from Uppal to Owaisi Junction.

According to a press release from the GHMC, the benefits of these projects include a smooth commute on the Uppal-Owaisi Junction route (both ways) and significant savings in terms of travel time. These facilities, in addition to increasing commute speed, will improve road safety and level of service for road users, as well as reduce pollution, according to the GHMC.

The Uppal-LB Nagar stretch has become a busy locality in recent years, with many dwelling units, office spaces, and commercial establishments emerging along the road, increasing traffic density. Companies are expanding in the eastern part of the city as a result of the state government’s enhanced dispersion policy, further increasing traffic density on the Uppal-LB Nagar stretch.
