Two-year-old boy killed by stray dogs in Golconda

A pack of stray dogs brutally attacked a two-year-old boy at Golconda in the city late on Tuesday night. The victim identified as Anas Ahmed was taken to a hospital but was declared dead.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, the child was playing outside while his parents were busy at home. He was attacked by dogs passing by, who pounced on him, dragged him into a nearby open area, and continued to attack him.

After hearing the boy’s screams, locals rushed to his rescue and chased the dogs away, while the boy suffered deep injuries to his throat and other parts of his body.

Upon arriving at Niloufer hospital, doctors declared him dead. There have been several dogs attacks in the area, which irked area residents who demanded the government remove the stray dogs. Police have registered a case and are investigating.

Hyderabad terrorized by stray dogs

In response to claims from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) that it had taken adequate measures to control the dog menace, citizens have criticized the authority.

In January of last year, a nine-year-old boy was killed in Kishan Bagh. People were shocked by the incident. As a result, they were afraid to leave their homes. There have also been several accidents in nearby areas as dogs chase bikes and cars, according to a resident of Bahadurpura.

Children walking alone are being attacked and killed by stray dogs. Another incident involved a seven-year-old boy that was seriously injured by dogs. It was the second serious incident of last year.

Muhammad Shakeel, the father of Adnan, said a street dog attacked his son while he was with his friend in front of the house, biting him on the hands, legs, and even his face.

Similar attacks have occurred in the past, according to local residents. Since children are becoming infected by dog bites, the dog menace has become a cause for concern. Local residents warn against sending children on errands since dog attacks have increased.
