Unani way of treatment quite effective in providing herbal heal: Experts

Raising concerns over the way the Unani way of treatment is being pushed to the doom especially in Telangana despite promising results while dealing with different kind of ailments and disorders, Dr.A.A.Khan, State President, the All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC) Telangana region said, “It is a need of the hour to bring awareness among the people about the importance of Unani way of treatment in dealing day to day health issues domestically.”

Dr.Khan was addressing the gathering of Unani students, Unani practitioners and enthusiasts on the occasion of a ‘Botanical Tour’ to Telangana State Indian Medicinal Plants Board (TSIMPB), Aziz Nagar at Moinabad on Sunday. Apart from Unani students from Government Nizamia Tibbi College Charminar, the Unani traditional medicinal practitioners and enthusiasts from across the state were part of the visiting team.

The All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC) Telangana region – represented by pioneer Unani experts, has organised a Botanical Tour to Moolika Vanam Telangana State Indian Medicinal Plants Board, Aziz Nagar at Moinabad.

“At a time when the trivial treatment in corporate hospitals became a costly affair and forcing the poor and the middle class to pay through the nose, the Unani herbal way of treatment should be made common and accessible for all section of the society to help people get instant and better treatment with promising results,” he asserted.

As part of the monthly visit, the medicinal plants like Adusa, Insulin Plant, Patherchatta, Bail Giri, Konda and Pindi herbs were included in Sunday’s program to pore-over their importance in treating various diseases and seasonal maladies.

While emphasizing the importance of the herbs, Md.Rafiuddin, Deputy Range Officer Telangana State Indian Medicinal Plants Board, explained the benefits of the pre-identified medicinal plants in length.

“While Adusa leaves can be used to treat respiratory disorders, the leaf of Insulin plant would be helpful in regulating blood sugar. Similarly Patherchatta (Bryophyllum leafs) can be used to help remove renal and gallbladder stones. Apart from this, he said, Konda and Pindi Plant leaf could also be used to remove kidney, bladder and gallbladder stones. Likewise, Bail Giri plant fruit (Bailgiri ka Phal) can be used to treat irregular bowel disease and syndrome,” the expert explained.

Earlier, the team of Unani students and enthusiasts, led by state President AIUTC-TS Dr.A.A.Khan, went round the room and discovered the features of the medicinal plants that found helpful explicitly in treating chronic disease like cancer.

Special guest Dr.M.A. Farooqui, National President Academic Wing, special invities such as Dr.Hasan Ahmed, Dr.Minhaj Khan, Syed Misbahuddin, Dr.Muhammad Mukarram, Qadir Sharif, Film Director and actress Shahana Khan are among the notables who grace the occassion supervised by the organiser Hakeem Hussamuddin Talat State Secretary AIUTC.

The All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC) Telangana region, organises the study tour on the first Sunday of every month to help the Unani students gain knowledge of the herbs useful in treating different types of ailments, diseases and disorders besides seasonal maladies.
