Unlock 5.0: Schools to Re-open from Oct 19 In UP

Lucknow: The Yogi Adiyanath led government has conditionally allowed the Re-open schools from class 9 to 12 across the state on 19 October after a gap of almost seven months.

Online classes will continue for students from class 8 and below.

After the Centre’s Home Affairs Ministry and the guidelines of the Uttar Pradesh government. The in-person classes will be held in all schools, colleges, and education institutions after Re-open.


According to the instructions, the classes will start in 2 shifts and a written letter from the parents and their guardians would be required.

All schools, colleges, and educational institutions would need to take regular necessary precautions like compulsory wearing of face masks; and maintaining social distancing between students and sanitization near gates, classes, Libraries, kitchens, canteen, washrooms, laboratories, libraries, furniture, equipment, stationery, storage places, water tanks, etc. on the school campus

The campus cannot exceed a specified number of children in a class and no morning prayer meetings will be allowed in an effort to avoid crowding.

Children will not be allowed to go out in the spare time and no snacks and water containers will be shared among others.

The Union Home Ministry had issued new guidelines for ‘Unlock 5.0’ on 2 October, Permitting more relaxations outside Covid-19  containment areas.

Although, several states,in-country have extended lockdown in COVID  hotspots till October 31 to break the chain of Covid-19 transmission.
