Use Organic chemicals: Niranjan Reddy tells farmers

Hyderabad: Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy today underscored the need for using organic chemicals to increase production. 

Niranjan Reddy participated in a program related to using organic chemicals. The minister released Siri City compost organic chemicals of state agro-industries into the market. On the occasion, he said that organic chemicals are available in 600 agro centers. Increase their number and see that the farmers use organic chemicals to boost agriculture production. 

He said that there is an increase in demand for fertilizers from 8.5 lakh metric tons to 10.5 lakh metric tons in the state.  This is not good for farmers as mire use of the fertilizers will cause loss to crops and soil. 

The minister asked farmers to use  Organic chemicals instead of fertilizers as that will harm crops and soil. Niranjan Reddy directed that officials conduct awareness programs in districts in this regard. Prepare a list of people using organic chemicals and fertilizers and encourage them for the former the minister said. 

 He said that soil tests will be conducted twice a year,  necessary advice are to be offered. He also said that soil health cards to be offered to the farmers in the state.
