Uttam likely to vacate Huzurnagar seat on Monday

Hyderabad: TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, who was elected as MP from Nalgonda in the recent Lok Sabha elections, is likely to resign from his MLA post on January 3.

According to informed party sources, Uttam will hand over his resignation papers of his MLA post from Huzurnagar Assembly seat to Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Monday. It may be mentioned here that Uttam was elected as MLA from Huzurnagar in the Assembly elections held in December last year.

Meanwhile, political rumor mills are abuzz with reports that wife of Uttam and the former MLA Padmavathi Reddy was reluctant to contest from Huzurnagar after resignation of her husband from the seat. She contested unsuccessfully from Kodad Assembly constituency in the December Assembly elections. She won from the same seat for the first time in the year 2014. (NSS)
