Vaccine Drive Begins in Ts, Sanitation Worker Kistamma Takes First Jab: Rajender Says No Fear

Hyderabad: Much awaited Corona vaccination drive was kick-started in two Telugu States as it was begun by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a grand scale virtually. The first dose was given to sanitation workers Kistamma and Pushpa Kimarri in these states by taking a, call from Modi.

With Modi started this drive by chanting a Telugu poem, the entire country has witnessed the historic corona vaccination program, as the front line warriors who gave their names took the first doses successfully.

At Secunderabad Gandhi Hospital, health minister E Rajender, Union deputy home minister G Kishan Reddy, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, and others began the much-hyped Inoculation drive.

In Vijayawada GGH Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy began the drive with Minister Alla Nani and officials. As many as 3.64 lakh Covishield and 20000 Covaxin are made available in the state of Telangana. Rajender said that the Telangana government began the drive in 140 centers and every day 30 health staff would get it. Rajender lauded the sanitation workers and health staff for their stupendous job to fight the Corona pandemic and its spread.

Taking Midi’s call I did not take the first vaccine given to a sanitary worker he said. He said that there is no need for fear and doubts about the vaccine to fight the disease. The Corona vaccination is for health wing staff first and taking Modi’s call it was administered to sanitation workers. We are following central guidelines and ICMR norms in the vaccination drive, he said.

As per the vaccination drive norms, these doses are kept in cold storage and administer to the health wing officials who are front line warriors. He said that as per directions from Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, corona jab doses were sent to all districts. Kishan Reddy expressed happiness at the beginning of the Corona vaccination program.

  First jabs to be for front line health staff, then to sanitation and above 50 years, and those with long time diseases. He appreciated India’s Bharat Biotech Company for supplying vaccines to the world. The scientists made the best efforts to roll out the vaccine he added.
