Victim of the Jubilee Hills rape states she was trapped by the accused

In her testimony, the Jubilee Hills gang rape survivor described what happened on May 28. According to her second statement, the accused trapped her into going with them and then raped her in the car after she left the pub. For the second time, Hyderabad City police recorded a statement from the gang rape survivor under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) on June 6.

According to her statement, she and another female friend had come out of the pub together. After booking a cab, her friend left. The friend who brought the victim to the party stayed inside the pub while she waited outside.

Her phone was grabbed by the accused, who were already following the victim, and they informed her that they would book a cab for her. When she told the accused that her phone signal was weak, he promised to take her home in the Mercedes and made her get in.

Banjara Hills’ Concu Bakery was their next stop after the pub. While she was inside the Benz car, they snatched her glasses and handbag and mistreated her.

As soon as they reached Concu, they changed cars and shifted into an Innova car, claiming that the car was too small to accommodate all of them. Having hoped that her glasses and handbag would be returned, the victim boarded the Innova in the hope that they would return them. During that time, the five accused took turns raping her in an isolated area, she said.

Police recorded the first statement of the survivor at the Bharosa Centre, a refuge centre for women and children who are victims of crime, on June 7 after filing an FIR at Jubilee Hills police station against five youths, three of whom are minors. The police arrested the five accused who were minors based on her statement.

Further investigation in the case has also involved Jubilee Hills police contacting the Juvenile Justice Court to seek custody of five juveniles for further questioning.
