Vizag Steel Plant workers warn center of serious consequences

Visakhapatnam: The workers of Vizag Steel Plant (VSP) today warned the central government of facing serious consequences if it went ahead with its decision to privatize the plant. The workers held a massive agitation program protesting the decision of the center on the issue.

State Tourism Minister Avanthi Srinivas and ruling YSRCP MLAs also took part in the agitation and extended their complete support to the agitation of the workers. The leaders of all workers unions of all political parties also took part in the agitation program.

Speaking on the occasion, the union leaders made it clear that they would make any kind of sacrifice to stop the privatization of the steel plant in the same manner as they sacrificed a lot for the establishment of the steel plant. They also made it clear that the plant was in profits and added that the management of the plant had taken loans for its expansion.

They demanded the state BJP leaders and Jana Sena Party Chief Pawan Kalyan to intervene in the issue and mount pressure on the center and prevent it from implementing its controversial decision.

They alleged that the central government was showing discrimination towards all South Indian States. The union leaders had said that they were holding the protest programs by taking inspiration from the letter By the Chief Minister of the state YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
