Hyderabad: Congress candidate from Gajwel Assembly constituency, Vonteru Prathap Reddy today dared the EC to take stern action against TRS Boss and Caretaker Chief Minister, K Chandra sekhar Rao for violating poll code and decency of democracy by stocking money in Erravalli Farm House to lure the people.
He told media persons at Secretariat after a meeting with CEO Rajat Kumar, he said that he complained against KCR and sought immediate action for violating poll code. Rajat Kumar promised to look into the issue and he hoped the EC will take necessary action to prevent illegal flow of money and liquor.
Reddy, who is taking on KCR from Gajwel segment for the Assembly polls, today alleged that the EC, police are not functioning properly, and sparing the TRS leaders and harassing the leaders of the opposition parties. He complained to CEO against KCR, and complained that EC staff and police were distributing money and liquor on behalf of the ruling party. Stating that he is ready to commit suicide to protect democracy, Reddy suspected the Election Commission for not conducting raids on the farm house. ‘My phone is getting tapped and civil police harassing me and no single vehicle of the TRS is getting caught’ he charged.
Asking whether the EC working in the state, he threatened to commit suicide if the EC staff and police failed to change and protect democracy. KCR misguided the EC by stating in the affidavit that he has only 57 acres in farm house, against 337 acres, Prathap Reddy charged. The election commission is not functioning properly and did not conduct raids on the farm house as it has a lot of money meant to lure voters, he alleged.(NSS)
