Weavers welfare to continue : KTR

Hyderabad: Industries and IT Minister KT Rama Rao today said that the government will continue the subsidy to help the weavers in the state.

Telangana will continue its welfare programs for the weavers through continuing the existing schemes the minister said.

At a program along with Minister E Dayakar Rao, he assured to start a mini textile park in Kodakandla in Warangal district. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is for the welfare of the weavers and its community, he said. As per KCR instructions, the mini textiles park will come up and we are taking all steps KTR said.

He also said that Kodakandla is known for the migration of thousands of weavers to other places.

With the starting of the textile park they will get back to get their livelihood and income he said. As per the KCR directive, the welfare of the weavers will continue the minister said. Bathukamma sarees scheme will be continued to give income and work for the weavers, he said. Power Looms will get adequate work through Bathukamma sarees.

The Minister said that about Rs 95 cr was offered towards subsidies and 25000 weavers have been benefited. The government will soon offer related work to the weavers to get
Dayakar Rao said that the new park will give employment to about 20,000 weavers. He extended thanks to the chief minister and KTR for the textile park. Dayakar further hoped that the new park will be operational and push weavers to get more work in the district.
