Hyderabad: December 1 will be observed as World AIDS Day across the world to spread awareness on HIV prevention, treatment care and support activities by conducting walks, runs, bike rallies, mega meetings and so on, Additional Project Director of Telangana State AIDS Control Society has informed,
According to a statement today, the rallies, meetings and runs, youths, VIPs, local celebrities, HIV-infected and affected people and also vulnerable populations like commercial sex workers are involved. The Telangana State AIDS Control Society will be conducting World AIDS Day in a big way propagating this year’s theme “Know Your Status” sending a call to everybody to come forward to know their HIV status.
As a part of this, a 10k Marathon is planned and 5,000 people are expected to participate. State VIPs like the Governor, IAS Officers and some of celebrities from Telugu Film Industry are also expected to take part in the event. The Marathon will take place on the Necklace road from 5 am to 9 am. (NSS)
