2024 general election right time to oust BJP Govt from power: Kejriwal

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) founder and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that people across the country wanted change and that the 2024 general election was the right time to oust the BJP Government from power at the Centre.

People elected the BJP to power for two terms in the hope of seeing some progress, particularly in employment and welfare, he said, but their hopes were dashed.

“People will have an opportunity to oust the BJP government at the Centre in the 2024 general election,” Arvind Kejriwal said.

Concerning the country’s rising conflicts between governors and state governments, the AAP leader stated that it was not the governors of a few states who were causing problems for the elected Chief Ministers but Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who makes phone calls and directs governors to create tensions for the Chief Ministers.

“We were talking about the situation being the same in Telangana and Delhi. Prime Minister Modi is calling up Governors and asking them to halt work happening in the states. The Governor gets a big bungalow, an air conditioned car and enjoys life for 5 years. How will the country progress like this?” he was reported as saying.

It was encouraging that a few like-minded Chief Ministers were joining together to speak out against the country’s backwardness, he said, adding that a new sense of hope was emerging.

It has been 75 years since India achieved independence and yet people in India still yearned for quality healthcare, education, and basic necessities. He explained that it was all due to bad politics and a lack of commitment on the part of successive governments.

“If Kerala has good hospitals and quality medicare, why cannot other States have such facilities?” Kejriwal asked, urging people to vote for a government that prioritises addressing unemployment, providing healthcare, and controlling price increases.

The Delhi Chief Minister claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was unconcerned about the problems of the people but was worried about poaching MLAs and toppling governments.
