GHMC establishes 72 mobile and 24 static SC&TPs

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has established 72 mobile Secondary Collection and Transfer Points (SC&TP) and 24 static SC&TP to improve the city’s cleanliness initiatives.

These secondary collecting and transfer stations are containerized vehicles, i.e. hermetically sealed vehicles connected with hook loader trucks, whilst static ones are stored on dedicated land parcels of 100 square meters or more.

Currently, trash collected from residences, roadways, and other public locations is transported to transfer stations before being recycled at the Jawahar Nagar dump yard. All municipal solid waste created by these new facilities is no longer dumped in the traditional transfer stations but is being taken to the SC&TP and from there it is being sent to Jawahar Nagar for recycling.

The SC&TP are constructed in such a way that Swachh Auto Tippers may directly tip waste into these containerized trucks.
