Six people who were involved in the illegal marriage of a minor girl to a 57 years old man In Hyderabad on Thursday were arrested by police and the 16 years old girl was rescued.
The man who is absconding after the marriage was also booked for sexually assaulting the minor girl.
The girl’s aunty had some debts and made a plan to get the girl to marry the old man after taking 2 lakh from him the police said.
The girl’s aunty had planned along with her husband, son, two agents, and a qazi (who were among the six arrested) and got the girl married by submitting fake documents to the qazi who Iliigally performed the marriage the Hyderabad Police said.
A cousin of the girl had complained about the illegal marriage and on which the six accused were arrested. The police also said Efforts were on to nab the other accused who are absconding. After the marriage the man had allegedly raped the girl at a lodge in Hyderabad the police added.
