Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has agreed in principle to construct a new multi-super specialty hospital on the premises of Erragadda chest Hospital in the city.
This was informed by Animal Husbandry and Cinematography Minister, Talasani Srinivas Yadav. He made a visit to the Chest Hospital along with Home Minister Mahamood Ali and inspected treatment and facilities.
The government and health officials have recently started a special covid -19 ward in the hospital and the ministers. Srinivas Yadav said that he will make another visit with officials to the hospital. For the new multi-specialty hospital we will visit with Health Secretary Rizvi, Health Director Srinivas Rao, and DME, Ramesh Reddy he said. On visiting the hospital we will submit a report to the Government, he said. The detailed report will be submitted to the chief minister to take a call, he said.
On the construction of the new hospital people in the city will get better facilities on par with corporate hospitals, he said.
The government is committed to providing better services to the people in the corona crisis and later on, he claimed. The KCR Government is spending huge funds on the health sector and taking on the corona cases. Lockdown, he said, has decreased the cases and fatalities. The minister said that the people’s cooperation is seen in the pandemic and lockdown to see a dip in cases.

The people must follow corona protocols and further see a decline in the cases he said. We have discussed the new hospital proposal with modern facilities like Gandhi Hospital with Superintendent, Mahabub Khan, he said. When we discussed the same with the chief minister he agreed to construct for the people. He said that the 44 acres of land are available in the premises and a new modern hospital with a research center is being planned. On completion of the works, it will be a big relief to the people like the rush on other major hospitals can be reduced, he felt.
The minister said that after a visit to the hospital with the official team he will submit a report to the Chief Minister to finalize the project.
