Aaraa survey predicts TRS win if polls held today, BJP to surpass Congress

In a pre-election poll released on Wednesday, Hyderabad-based polling firm Aaraa polling strategies said that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will undoubtedly win if elections were held today as the political battle intensifies ahead of the Telangana Assembly elections in 2023.

Political parties are contending for the state’s early elections, which serve as the backdrop for this. However, the polling indicates that even though the TRS will prevail, its vote share would decline to 38.8% from 46.87% in the 2018 Assembly elections. Given the current political climate, where the BJP intends to become a serious challenger in the state elections, a loss of 8% of the vote is noteworthy.

The poll predicts that the BJP will receive 30.8% of the votes, a substantial rise of 23% in their vote share, while the Congress vote share is predicted to decline by 5% to 23.7 percent.

In the districts of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medak, and Mahabubnagar, the pollster anticipated a three-way race.

The head of the polling company, Mastan, told the reporters that the TRS and the BJP are likely to face off against each other in the Assembly elections and that the Congress may not be able to pose a significant threat to the TRS. Additionally, it was stated that while north Indians who had settled in the state could favor the BJP, Andhra settlers in twin cities might tilt toward TRS or Congress.

While the TRS is anticipated to face a difficult challenge from Congress in the districts of Warangal, Khammam, and Nalgonda. In the districts of Medak and Mahabubnagar, there would be a triangular contest between the TRS, BJP, and Congress parties, according to a press release from Aaraa Poll Strategies.

According to the Aaraa survey, TRS has the strongest candidates in 87 of the state’s assembly segments, while the BJP and Congress both have equally strong candidates in 29 and 53 assembly constituencies respectively.
