AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi today came down heavily on the State government and alleged that it was not giving a single penny to the State Minority Finance Corporation for the welfare of the minority community since the last three years.
Owaisi made these remarks while taking part in a discussion on the annual budget of the state government. He said the State government should also take their criticism in a positive manner and take steps to implement their demands and suggestions. Alleging that the State government was ignoring the problems of the minority community in the State, Owaisi said the State government had not fulfilled its promise of shifting all minority Welfare departments to a building abutting Haj House in the city so far. He also alleged that the State government had not completed the building construction of the said building so far.
Stating that the State government had sanctioned 10 acres of land for an Islamic center, he said the construction works of the center had not yet begun. He reminded that all these promises were made by Chief Minister KCR on the floor of the House. He said the promises were not yet implemented by the State government.
Reminding that the CM promised to hold the meeting on the issue after Dasara festival last year, he said the CM had not kept his promise made on the floor of the House. Stating that festivals like Dasara, Diwali, Christmas, and Sankranthi are over, he said the promise of the CM to hold a meeting on the problems faced by the minorities of the State could not be fulfilled even after Holi festival. He asked the Chief Minister as to why he was making promises when he was not capable of keeping them. Stating that the MLAs in the House were being suspended for rushing towards well, he wanted to know from Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy whether the promises made on the floor of the House has any value or not?

Referring to the announcement made by the CM on the filling of more than 80,000 vacant government jobs, he doubted if the State government would fill them or not? Akbaruddin said the TSPSC did not have a Muslim member and added that there was not a single public pleader. He said the Muslim pleaders also did not have any place in the State Minorities Commission. He also said there was no Muslim vice-chancellor for any of the universities in the State. He wondered whether there was no qualified Muslim to take up those posts and termed it as very unfortunate.
Targeting the State government over the protection of Waqf properties, Akbaruddin alleged that the ruling TRS party, which went to court for the protection of the Waqf properties before coming into power, was now claiming that the Waqf properties belonged to the State government. He demanded that the State government reveal the figures about the funds allocated for the Minority Welfare Department. Making it clear that his AIMIM would continue to work with the TRS party to realize golden Telangana State, Owaisi predicted that the TRS would retain power after the next Assembly elections.
