BJP Accuses BRS of Timid Telangana Liberation Day Celebration

Hyderabad: The ruling Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana has been accused of celebrating Telangana Liberation Day within their party headquarters owing to fear of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM).

NV Subhash, a spokesperson for the Telangana BJP, further said that the BJP is the only party that has continuously commemorated Telangana Liberation Day for a long time.

“BRS had promised to celebrate it (Telangana Liberation Day) once they came to power,” he said, “but they only celebrate it inside the party office due to AIMIM’s fear.”

Subhash underlined that the BJP has been the only party to commemorate Telangana Liberation Day, reminding people of the sacrifices made to free Telangana from Nizam tyranny.

Telangana emancipation Day commemorates the region’s emancipation from Nizam domination and the end of the harsh Razakar administration. Every year on September 17th, it is observed.

The BJP’s claims come amid political tensions and preparations for Telangana’s approaching elections.
