BJP ‘agent’ had links to GoI officials, reveals SIT investigation

As part of its investigation into the BJP’s covert operation of luring four TRS (now BRS) MLAs, the SIT has revealed that Ramachandra Bharathi, one of the three accused in the case, was in close contact with two officials at one of the most important Central government offices in New Delhi.

Bharathi was in continuous contact with Ravi Vashist, believed to be an undersecretary in the Government of India, according to the SIT investigators who examined his call data.

It was also reported that he is a well-connected person and despite claiming to be a Swamy, he is married to Parul, who works for Niti Aayog. It was also discovered that he has good connections in the higher echelons of the Central government and is aware of the postings of important officials in advance.

Additionally, he is known to facilitate the choicest postings for officials. As part of the SIT probe, data analysis is being conducted at 30 locations throughout the country. So far, the SIT has retrieved 5 TB of data from the phones and computers of the three accused.

According to sources, the BJP-led Central government was planning raids by the Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax on six TRS legislators Muthireddy Yadagirireddy, A Gandhi, Marri Janardhan Reddy, Rajender Reddy, Pyla Shekhar Reddy and Jeevan Reddy based on information gleaned from interrogating the three arrested.
