BJP Foiled by Police, CPI walk towards Telangana Assembly

Hyderabad: Tension held the region around Telangana Assembly on Tuesday as heads and workers of BJP, CPI and jobless youth association attempted to walk towards the building in support of their demands.

Police detained more than a few protestors of BJP, CPI at different spots as they were going towards the Telangana Assembly to lay siege to the building because of the call given by their particular associations.

The protests were carried out as the  Assembly started a day-long special session to pass Bills to change (GHMC) Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Act and other enactments.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prompted for a ‘Chalo Assembly’ to oppose against the alterations to GHMC Act. The (CPI) Communist Party of India had given a different call for the protest to request the construction of two bed-room houses for poor people.

Demanding the administration to give work notice, jobless youth association had likewise required the protest.

Bearing placards and their individual party banners, protestors attempted to walk towards Assembly yet were halted by the police. The security staff were seen pursuing few protestors and physically lifting them to the waiting police vehicles. They were moved to various police headquarters.

BJP workers raised trademarks of “CM down”. They demanded the delimitation of GHMC divisions. A protestor said a few divisions had 60,000 voters while some others have just 25,000 voters.

Some BJP heads asserted that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government is defaming their party.

Workers of CPI were additionally taken into custody by the police as they were attempting to progress towards Assembly. They asserted that the government neglected to construct double bed-room houses according to its promise.

Police put CPI heads K. Narayana and Chada Venkat Reddy under house arrest to thwart the protest.
