BJP MP D Arvind hoped for a longer ban on PFI

On Wednesday, BJP MP from Nizamabad Dharampuri Arvind said he hoped for a longer PFI ban and questioned the AIMIM’s stance on the issue.

Earlier, in a series of tweets, Owaisi, the AIMIM chief, stated that the actions of some individuals who commit a crime do not mean that the organization itself must be banned.  He also mentioned that the Supreme Court ruled that mere association with an organization is insufficient to convict someone.

He also stated that, while he has always opposed the PFI’s approach, the “draconian” and “dangerous” ban on the organization cannot be supported.

He said that he has always opposed PFI’s approach and supported the democratic approach but this ban on PFI cannot be supported. According to the AIMIM chief, this is a “ban on any Muslim who wishes to speak his mind.”

As per reports, BJP MP from Nizamabad Dharampuri Arvind said, “First of all, I was expecting a longer term for the PFI ban. Why does MIM care so much about what should be put in the public domain, since the NIA and the law of the land will decide? I suggest to Imtiaz Jaleel that if the names are made public, even yours may surface. A finger is also pointed at the MIM party and its ideology regarding national integrity. It is questionable.”

Arvind went on to say that Telangana has become a hotspot for terrorist activity as a result of the TRS party’s vote bank appeasement politics, which promotes anti-national activity and provides shelter to such organizations, and that for them, Telangana under KCR has become a safe haven.

“Those who are arrested are almost certainly booked under UAPA and other laws. If you have prima facie evidence, arrests will be made mandatory for the sake of national integrity. Anyone who promotes such anti-national activity, engages in it, or plays any role in it will be booked under UAPA, and there is no way out,” he said.
