Strategic Nala Development Programme (SNDP) works have been accelerated by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), with the aim of completing them before the rains arrive. To ensure that the deadline was met, all GHMC zones were asked to send senior engineers to practice. In some areas they encountered resistance from the locals because of the field conditions and the alignments and designs had to change as work began.

A few Nala works are expected to be completed within the next month and a half, according to details of work currently underway in the GHMC. By the end of July, the Zonal Commissioners and Chief Engineers have promised to fast-track the Rs 200 crore worth of works.
