CV Anand urges police officials to ensure peaceful conduct of key events

The Hyderabad Police Commissioner, CV Anand, held a video conference with police officials on Thursday ahead of a series of key events this month, including the Formula E race, the inauguration of a new Secretariat building, the Legislative Assembly session, and festivals, and urged them to remain alert and ensure the peaceful conduct of the events.

He directed officials to develop clear traffic management and diversion plans to ensure smooth movement for the general public, VVIPs, and other dignitaries, and to ensure that no one creates any law and order problems near the Legislative Assembly.

“Zero error access control at the Assembly should remain our top priority and we have to deploy adequate force at key intersections, lanes by-lanes,” he told the officers.

Anand directed traffic officers to launch digital and other campaigns across all platforms to educate the public about the road closures associated with the Formula-E race. Social media monitoring teams were given instructions to keep an eye out for rumour mongers.

Violations of traffic laws to be strictly dealt with by Hyderabad police

P Viswa Prasad, Joint Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) apprised all the officers about the key happenings and the precautions to be taken.

On Thursday, CV Anand and senior officials inspected the 2.8 km race track, audience stands, and entry/exit points. He went over the preparedness of the organizers and other security aspects.

“Around 575 police personnel will be deployed to man security and regulate the traffic. A total of 16 stands, seven gates and four Foot over Bridges are set up to facilitate free crowd movement,” he said.

Hyderabad is hosting such an event for the first time, he said, adding that hosting it here demonstrated the innovation, ambition and determination of the State government to accelerate change towards an electric future.

“The organizers prefer to conduct this event in the heart of the city to bring the next generation electric cars closer to public. The city police will extend all support and ensure security measures are elevated to the maximum.” said Anand.
