Delhi Police Officer Surrenders After Shooting his Girlfriend and Murdering Father-In-Law

Two days following the killing of his father-in-law in Haryana’s Rohtak and shooting his Girlfriend in Delhi, Sandeep Dahiya, the 36-year-old Sub-Inspector of Delhi Police, surrendered to the police on Tuesday.

Prior to his surrender in the North locale of Delhi, he additionally composed a WhatsApp note in which he explained on the reasons why he shot dead his father-in-law and fired shots at his girlfriend in Delhi. He has been arrested and questioning is in process.

Delhi Police Sub-Inspector Sandeep Dahiya fled subsequent to shooting and wounding his girlfriend after a fight in Delhi. Afterward, he shot dead his father-in-law in Rohtak on Monday morning.

He was on the run with his service revolver on him that he used to shoot the two individuals.

The 36-year-old police officer’s wife and he have been separated for a long time and the two had been living independently.

Dahiya was involved in a relationship with another female for as long as one year whom he reportedly shot during a fight and left by the side of the road on the GT Karnal Road in north Delhi’s Alipur region on Sunday.

As per the police, Dahiya shot the woman when both of them were having a quarrel inside his vehicle. The wounded woman was then saved by another Sub-Inspector Jaiveer who reportedly detected her while crossing the Sai Mandir on the GT Karnal street.

As per police, Sandeep Dahiya joined Delhi Police in 2006 as constable and subsequent to finishing the test, he became Sub-Inspector in 2010. He is a permanent resident of Village Sisana, District Sonipat, Haryana. At present, he was living at a government-designated accommodation in the Shalimar Bagh Police Colony. He additionally has a matrimonial conflict with his wife. A case u/s 498 An IPC was furthermore filed against him in Rohtak.
