DGP Calls for Joint Action to Prevent Spurious Seeds Sale

The DGP M. Mahender Reddy today called upon the people of the state to join hands to put a check on the sale of spurious seeds in Telangana.

He said that there was a need to put an end to all kinds of anti-farmer activities including the sale of spurious seeds.

He made these remarks while Addressing media persons along with West Zone IG Stephen Ravindra, Hyderabad range IG Sivasankar Reddy and Nalgonda SP AC Ranganath, he said that they had arrested a 13 member interstate gang involved in the sale of the spurious seeds.

He said that the Nalgonda task force police had nabbed the gang members on the basis of a complaint lodged by some farmers from the Devarakonda area.

Reddy said that they had seized 200 tonnes of the spurious seeds worth ₹6 crores. The DGP expressed his happiness over the seizure of such a huge quantity of spurious seeds. He also congratulated the police team involved in the operation.
