Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president and Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday criticized that it was all talk and no action on the sale of spurious seeds in the state.
Addressing the media after attending the general body meeting of the Huzurnagar municipality, he said though the Chief Minister has announced that PD Act would be used against the sellers of spurious seeds, no action has been taken on the accused in spurious seeds sales.
He said that in Chintalapalem village spurious seeds have been seized but no action has been taken on the sellers. “Let alone using PD Act on them, there was no proper inquiry,” Uttam Kumar Reddy criticized.

He made it clear that they would take up agitation if the government did not take action on the sellers of spurious seeds in 24 hours.
Addressing the Huzurnagar Municipality general body meeting, the Nalgonda MP said that the municipality was an autonomous body and it should not allow others to wield its powers. He made it clear that all financial powers should be used only after adoption of resolutions in the Municipality general body meeting.
He advised members of the council to hold meetings of the council every month to discuss issues. He said that in view of prevailing Covid conditions, the meetings could be held in the function halls or online.
He said that there should be transparency in the functioning of the municipality so that there would be no doubts on activities it. He said that the councilors should be given enough time to discuss the issues. “If required reduce the number of items on the agenda and allow the councilors to discuss the issues in detail,” he suggested.
He said that as MLA and as MP he has been striving for the development of the Huzurnagar town. He said that Huzurnagar gram panchayat was converted into Municipality with his efforts when he was MLA here. He said that road widening has been taken up and central lighting was arranged in the town. He said that Krishna water has been brought to quench the thirst of the people of the municipality.

He said that Huzurnagar was the first municipality to have Ring Road after Ring Roads have been developed in Hyderabad. He said that construction of double bedroom houses has been initiated and about 4000 units are under construction. He demanded the government to complete them immediately. He promised that he would fight for the development of Huzurnagar Municipality from the local level to the national capital level.
