Digithon CyberReady Certificate Programme by TITA, UTD

Aims at exposing to the basic skills required for dealing with cybersecurity threats
Hyderabad: The COVID pandemic has forced many to work from home. There has been an increased online presence to get the work done. This has also increased the incidence of cyberattacks. Keeping in view of the growing risk perception and security landscape, DIGITHON in association with the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), USA supported by TITA has announced the launch of a 1month ‘CyberReady programme’.
The training aims at preparing people to protect the cyberinfrastructure and digital assets at home and offices. The programme will be offered in association with the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), which is one of the top-rated universities in the USA. Participants will receive a globally recognized certificate from Digithon and UTD, said TITA founder and global president Sundeep Kumar Makthala.
Announcing the programme, Makthala said organizations have begun classifying cybersecurity jobs as essential or as critical functions. “This is the right time for students and working professionals to look for career prospects in the cybersecurity industry. One should look at equipping themselves with skills that are mapped to the cyber roles demanded in the industry,” he said.
The roles in the cybersecurity realm include network administrator, junior IT auditor, penetration teaser, security specialist, security engineer, security analyst, threat intelligence analyst, application security analyst, incident response or handler and threat hunter among others.
As per a report by the Centre for Cyber Safety and Education, the unfilled cybersecurity jobs are expected to reach 1.8 million by 2022. The number suggests that the cybersecurity skill gap is going to increase in the next couple of years, Makthala said.
The training programme announced will expose the basics of the skills required for these roles, Makthala said adding that candidates for the training programme will be selected by a TITA panel. Digithon CyberReady programme signifies IT professionals’ ability to apply behavioural analytics to networks and devices to prevent, detect and combat cybersecurity threats. The learning will be supervised by trainers with real-world experience in cybersecurity.  The training will also include a live project.
