Dubai Extends India Travel Ban Until June 14 Amidst Rising Covid 19 Cases

Amidst the rising cases of Covid 19 in India, UAE flag carrier Emirates has announced the extension of its ban on passenger flights from India until June 14.

Emirates Restricts Travel for Transiting Passengers To Dubai

As per the official statements released by the Dubai-based airline, they had announced that the passengers who have transited through India in the past 14 days will also not be allowed in the country from any other route. Furthermore, UAE nationals, UAE Golden Visa holders and the members of diplomatic missions who comply with the Covid 19 protocols will be exempt from the restrictions.

This comes after the UAE’s General Authority of Civil Aviation and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority said that the suspension of entry  for travellers from India would get extended.  They said that the suspension applies to travellers from India on all flights; national and foreign carriers along with the transit passengers.

Dubai Approves Pfizer Covid 19 Vaccine for Children Aged 12-15

In the latest update, Dubai has approved Pfizer Covid 19 vaccine for children aged between 12-15. However, not every child is eligible for the same.

The Dubai Health Authority clarified that children who have active Covid 19 infection and needed specialised treatment for Covid 19 are not eligible for the vaccine. Even the ones who have had immediate and severe allergic reactions to the vaccine are also not eligible for the same.

Authorities further said that the parents must give their healthcare providers a complete medical history of their child/children. Furthermore, they must also disclose if their child has a weakened immune system or has had a health issue in the past three days before coming for the vaccine.
