Eco-Friendly Electric Luxury Buses launches in Hyderabad to Combat Pollution

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) inaugurated a fleet of eco-friendly Electric Green Metro Luxury AC buses at Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad as part of their efforts to combat pollution in the city. During the inauguration of the first phase, Telangana Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar and the TSRTC Vice Chairman and Managing Director, VC Sajjanar, unveiled 25 out of the 50 luxury buses, closely inspecting their features.

Starting from September 23, these buses will be available for commuters in the Hyderabad. Minister Ajay Kumar highlighted TSRTC’s commitment to providing high-quality services and commended Sajjanar for the positive changes implemented during his tenure as MD of TSRTC.

He emphasized the city’s expanding infrastructure and its alignment with the metro system, envisioning a future where diverse forms of transportation can be accessed using a single card. The Minister acknowledged the global trend toward electric vehicles and stressed the importance of their increased adoption in India to ensure a pollution-free environment for future generations. He expressed gratitude to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for the decision to merge TSRTC with the government.

Sajjanar noted the strong demand for electric AC buses in Hyderabad, with an impressive 80% occupancy ratio for buses operating on airport routes. Approximately 6,000 passengers utilize AC buses daily, contributing to the city’s sustainable transportation efforts.
