Elderly Father Seeks Property Help Amid Family Conflict

During a Prajawani program, an old father from Kattapalli hamlet in Timmapur mandal addressed the Karimnagar collectorate with a troubling complaint.

He said that he had generously given his two sons property worth Rs 5 crore, but that they had failed to supply him with food, leaving him in a situation of famine. As a result, he requested assistance from the collector in reclaiming the property.

During the Prajawani session, the old man, known as N. Rajaiah, revealed his emotional ordeal with officials present at the collector’s office. He added that despite his diligent efforts to share his hard-earned property (land) equally between his two kids, he had been ignored and denied sustenance. The estimated value of the property is Rs 5 crore in the market.

Rajaiah claims that his children first fed him, but that changed when the younger son and his daughter-in-law stopped feeding him after being admonished by the elder daughter-in-law.

In response to Rajaiah’s request, the collector quickly summoned the two sons for a meeting. It’s worth noting that a recent significant Madras High Court decision permits parents to regain property from their children if they fail to provide sufficient care for them.
