Hyderabad: Finance Minister T Harish Rao today stated that the government will make bills payments in just 72 hours to the farmers after purchasing their produce. Speaking to media persons at Sanga Reddy Harish Rao instructed officials to set up more purchase centers to avoid rain problems on demand by local leaders. Stating that with more rains Singur and Nallavagu projects are full and paddy was grown in 79200 acres in the district.
He asked the officials to make payments in just three days farm produce to the farmers on procuring their produce in the centers set up. Harish Rao instructed them to see that purchase centers are located at some heights to overcome waterlogging.
The Finance Minister T Harish Rao asked to get adequate gunny bags, equipment for paddy, and grains procurement. The minister has asked the officials to give training to women groups on purchasing and procure produce with 17 percent moisture. Paddy with 17 percent moisture is procured within 24hours from
the farmers. The minister directed for shifting of the product to the godowns mills within 24 hours.
