FBI Releases US Capitol Bomb Video; Rewards For Information

US Capitol riots created a lot of concerns not only across the country but also around the world. The incident posed on the working democracy in the United States of America. However, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released videos showing a person planting the bombs.

FBI Offers Rewards For More Information

As per the latest updates, the FBI released videos of the US Capitol riots. The video shows a man planting two pipe bombs outside the Republican National Committee and the Democratic National Committee headquarters. The incident is said to happen a day before January 6, 2021 Capitol riots.

The suspect seen in the video is yet to be found. And the FBI is willing to reward $100,000 for any relevant information about the whereabouts of the suspect. The bombs were reportedly planted between 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm on January 5, 2021. Police reported that both the bombs were fully functional.

FBI Urges For Public Help

The Assistant Director in charge of the FBI’s Washington field office, Steven D’Antuono said that the pipe bombs that were planted could have exploded and cause serious harm to life including death. He further said that they need help from the public to identify the person who was planting the pipe bombs.

The new videos also show that the suspect was walking on the sidewalk from the Capitol. He stopped to put down the backpack (with pipe bombs) and then walked out again. Apart from the videos, the FBI released a new poster with the images of the suspect. The poster also showcased Nike “Air Max Speed Turf” shoes.

D’Antuono also said that they strongly believe that there is some information out there but the ones who have it might not realise how significant it would be.

The attack took place on January 6, 2021. The incident happened in the Capitol building while Congress was already in session. The meeting was about the electoral college votes about Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as President and Vice President respectively.

In the attack, five people were reported to be dead including a police officer.
