Govt. rolls out Cabinet Sub-Committee to pore over ‘Unauthorized Layouts’

Two months after forming District Task Force (DTF) teams for the districts, the Telangana Government has now constituted a Cabinet Sub-Committee to discuss issues pertaining to Unauthorized Layouts in the state.

The Cabinet Sub-Committee consists of seven ministers that include Minister for MA&UD, Industries, and Information and Technology K. Taraka Rama Rao, Minister for Finance T.Harish Rao, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Dairy Development and Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Minister for Panchayat Raj & Rural Development and RWS Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Minister for Prohibition and Excise, Sports & Youth Services, Tourism & Culture, and Archaeology V.Srinivas Goud, Minister for Labour & Employment, Factories, Skill Development Chamakura Malla Reddy and Minister for Education P.Sabitha Indra Reddy.

The body will have as Special Chief Secretary to Government (MA&UD Department) as convenor of the Sub-Committee.

The government has issued an order in this regard briefing about the rule and objective of the Cabinet Sub-Committee that says the Committee members would look into the issues pertaining to Unauthorised Layouts, Regulation of Plots and House Sites, Gram Kantham, and other matters.

Interestingly, the government order came on September 18, the day when the section of media raised the issue of illegal layouts mushrooming again under G.O. 111 giving a hoot to the government edict.

Earlier in the month of July, the government issued an order directing district collectors to form District Task Force (DTF) teams to square off unauthorized layouts and structures.

Consisting of officials from Revenue, Police, Roads and Building, and Fire Services, these teams were conferred with the task to identify and monitor unauthorized constructions and layouts to take impromptu action against the violators and errant officials.
