Huzurnagar by-poll result will break KCR slumber: Uttam

Huzurnagar : TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy today condemned the attitude of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao in dealing with the RTC strike.

Addressing a series of corner meetings in Mattampally mandal as part of campaigning in Huzurnagar bye-elections on Sunday, Uttam described KCR as the most irresponsible and insensitive Chief Minister. He said it was KCR’s hostile attitude that drove RTC driver Srinivas Reddy to commit suicide. He said the TRS Government did not respond when RTC unions served a strike notice as per rules and made no efforts to meet their justified demands. When the RTC employees went on strike, the Chief Minister reacted wildly and announced dismissal of over 48,000 employees in a single stroke. He also stopped their previous month salaries and they were also denied treatment at RTC Hospital, he said.

It was KCR’s dictatorial attitude that instilled fear of insecurity and helplessness among employees. Consequently, one driver committed suicide and four others died of heart attack. He also ridiculed the TRS ministers for blaming the Opposition parties for RTC strike. He said the Chief Minister was not willing to meet or discuss with the RTC employees to resolve their problems and the ministers were not authorized to take a decision. “This is a democracy where every citizen has rights and must be treated with respect and dignity. The Chief Minister and his team are insulting RTC employees with their rude statements every day and they simply want the RTC employees to surrender unconditionally,” he said.

The TPCC Chief said the TRS Government will be shocked on October 21 when people of Huzurnagar would vote in favour of Congress.  (NSS)
