Hyderabad: Infant’s body discovered in garbage dump

An infant’s body was discovered in a garbage dump at Jambagh in Attapur. Local residents who saw the body reported it to the Rajendranagar police, which took the body to the Osmania General Hospital for autopsy. A case has been filed and an investigation is underway.

In an attempt to track down the infant’s parents, police are verifying the records of recent births that were registered at nearby hospitals and nursing homes.

In another recent case, an abandoned infant baby boy was found near Niloufer Hospital in Nampally, police said on Monday.

The infant, believed to be about three days old, was found in a plastic bag in a parked autorickshaw.

As soon as the child was seen in the vehicle, local residents alerted Nampally police, who transported him to the Niloufer Hospital, where he is currently being treated. Authorities have opened an investigation into the case.

Due to the newborn’s ill health, police believe that he was abandoned by his parents. They are checking records of recent births registered at nearby hospitals and nursing homes in an attempt to identify the parents.
