Hyderabad: Service flat owners to face penalties for allowing unpermitted parties

It has been warned that the owners of service apartments should not rent out their apartments without collecting ID proofs and mobile phone numbers and allowing guests to occupy them for a limited period of time.

According to the police, guests who organize parties with liquor and music without proper permission from authorities will face legal action.

“Permission from GHMC and other departments concerned should be obtained before renting out premises for parties and get–together. Legal action will be initiated if the management shows any negligence,” said DCP (Madhapur) K Shilpavali.

Student parties have been found to be involved in the consumption of ganja and drugs in the name of weekend parties, said the police. “Parents should keep a watch on their children and monitor where they are going late in the night,” she advised.

This warning was issued just a few days after Hyderabad police arrested a business management student for selling drug chocolate bars, and a majority of the buyers were students aged 18-24.

Rishi Sanjay Mehta (22), a Narsingi resident, sold drug chocolate bars to about 120 customers, of whom 50 percent were girls.

48 chocolate bars laced with drugs and 40 grams of hash oil were seized by police. “The communication between the drug peddlers and buyers is through symbols and not words so that no third person understands it,” said the official.

The Gachibowli police arrested three students who were allegedly selling drugs and seized 3.5 grams of MDMA and 35 grams of ganja on Sunday.

On Sunday night, Gundu Arun Kumar (23), Pedhabolin Yashwanth (24) and Gollapally Issac (24), hosted a party for their friends at an apartment they rented for Rs 4,000 in Gachibowli. All three were arrested after a raid was conducted based on information.
