Hyderabad: Unaccounted cash worth Rs 89 L seized in Jubilee Hills

On Sunday night, officials from the Commissioner’s Task Force apprehended a person carrying unaccounted cash totaling Rs. 89 lakh in Jubilee Hills.

After receiving information, the team apprehended the man while he was transporting the cash in a car on Road No. 79 in Jubilee Hills. The cash was seized just three days before the Munugode bypoll in Telangana.

When questioned about the source of the cash, the accused failed to produce valid documents. The cash was confiscated and turned over to the Jubilee Hills police station. A case was filed in this regard and an investigation was launched to find out if the cash was being taken to Munugode in view of the by-election.

In another recent case, the Panjagutta police arrested two people in Banjara Hills on Thursday for carrying unaccounted cash worth Rs 70,00,000.
