Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy today asked the farmers to prefer cotton and red gram crops.
Grow redgram in 20 lakh acres and cotton in 70 lakh acres now, the minister suggested to the farmers. He instructed officials concerned to guide the farmers to go for these crops to get benefits. The officials and companies should supply quality seeds of oil to farmers to reach targets he said.

There is a huge demand for oil at the national level and we have to increase crops towards that he suggested. If poor quality seeds supplied serious action will be taken he warned. He stated that the irrigation projects which are completed helped the rise in crops and agricultural production in Telangana state. Our state is now contributing more to national food needs he claimed.
He attributed it to the credit of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s vision and commitment. The KCR government he said has been at the forefront to push farming activities. Rythu Vedikas is to help farmers to him for alternative crops with scientific methods. This time we have to rise cotton and redgram more instead of paddy he said. The KCR Government did not stop welfare schemes in the corona period and starting Rythu Vedikas.

The minister asked the officials to ensure farmers get timely support to push for better crops. The minister said that the budget gets better allocation for farming, welfare, irrigation, agriculture, education and health. The government will offer all help to the farmers.
