India Records Less Than 3 Lakh Cases in 24 Hours, First Drop in 25 Days 

India recently saw a sign of relief amidst the pandemic virus. As per the latest reports, the Covid numbers as for the daily figures fell below the 3 lakh mark for the first time in almost a month.

India Records Less Than 3 Lakh Cases in the Past 24 Hours 

Reports suggest that in the past 24 hours, India has recorded 2,81,386 active Covid 19 cases. This is the lowest number of covid 19 cases in the past 25 days. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare revealed that the total number of fatalities in the past 24 hours stands at 4106.

This comes after India recorded a total of 4,14,188 cases in 24 hours on May 7, the highest ever. On May 12, India recorded 4205 Covid 19 deaths in 24 hours, the highest ever. India’s total tally fo Covid 19 currently stands at  2,49,65,463 with 35,16,997 active cases and 2,74,390 deaths so far.

Reports from Health Ministry suggest that a total of 3,78,741 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours, with 2,11,74,076 being cured from Covid till date.

The Health Ministry data also reveals that 18,29,26,460 people have been vaccinated so far in the country, including 6,91,211 who were administered vaccines in the last 24 hours.

Second Batch of Russia’ Sputnik V Vaccine Reaches India 

While there have been multiple reports of India falling short of Covid 19 vaccines, Russia’s Covid 19 Sputnik V has reached Hyderabad, India. This is the second batch of vaccines that have reached India. Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories soft-launched the imported Covid 19 vaccine on May 14.

The vaccine is priced at Rs 948 with five percent GST per dose.

The first consignment of the Sputnik V vaccines with 1.50 lakh doses reached India on May 1.
