KCR Accuses Congress of Using Muslims as Vote Bank

BRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao claimed during an election rally in Nizamabad that the Congress simply used Muslims as a vote bank. He made a veiled allusion to Rahul Gandhi’s’mohabbat ki dukan’ (shop of love) remarks and questioned who was in charge of the demolition of the Babri Masjid.

Rao underlined the importance of genuine secularism, adding that the BRS respects everyone equally, regardless of faith or community.

He chastised the Congress for utilizing Muslims as a vote bank and asserted that no communal riots have happened in Telangana since the BRS government took office in 2014. Rao emphasized the large spending on minority welfare, claiming that just Rs 2,000 crore was spent on minority welfare during the ten years of Congress control in undivided Andhra Pradesh, whereas the BRS government spent Rs 12,000 crore.

Rao also accused the BJP of inciting racial hatred and stated that Telangana had the highest per capita income in the country. He expressed optimism that a national coalition government would be established after 2024, and if the BRS wins all Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, it will have clout in Delhi.
