KCR approves 885 additional posts in State High Court

As a result of the increase in the number of benches in the Telangana State High Court from 24 to 42, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao approved 885 additional posts of support staff for recruitment in the judiciary.

In the wake of the reorganization of districts from 10 to 33, 1,730 posts have also been approved to ease the setting up of 22 newly-proposed district courts.

He said the State government sanctioned a total of 4,348 additional posts to strengthen the judiciary in the State since its formation.

“We are prepared to provide all the help necessary for the judiciary, but I urge the judges to make sure that cases are adjudicated at the earliest,” he added, speaking at the inaugural session of the Telangana State Judicial Officers Conference-2022 that took place at convention hall here.

Chandrashekhar Rao thanked Chief Justice NV Ramana for sanctioning and appointing new judges to the Telangana High Court and said he hoped the judiciary of the State would be a model for the nation. He pointed out that Telangana was making strides in agriculture, information technology, and industrial development.

In line with the Digitalisation of Revenue Records programme, the details of 1.52 lakh acres have already been digitised and all the land transactions were being conducted in digital format.

He further said the government has total faith in the courts and abolished the revenue courts. All the pending litigations have been moved to the Judiciary wing and I urge the judges to expedite the disposal of these cases.

According to the Chief Minister, the Chief Justice of Telangana High Court should increase the number of benches in the Hyderabad City and Rangareddy courts that are encumbered by an increasing number of cases.

As part of the expansion of the Metropolitan Criminal Courts at Nampally, he expressed his willingness to hand over land owned by the Horticulture Department. Aside from that, he also urged the Chief Justice to set up new district courts in the 22 newly-formed districts.

He said the government is ready to construct new court complexes in the current financial year itself since the district collectors have already identified the required land.

The International Arbitration and Mediation Centre (IAMC) in Hyderabad is making rapid progress in this area, according to Chandrashekhar Rao, adding that international investors prefer investing money in places where litigation can be quickly resolved.

Trade, commercial, and business disputes will increase the flow of investment into Telangana if the arbitration centre takes action fast, the Chief Minister said. He urged judges to take the initiative in this direction. Furthermore, he announced that the State government had identified about 30 acres for the construction of new judges’ quarters to accommodate all 42 judges of the High Court.
